What is the best watch – Quartz or mechanical?

What do you think about when beginning the process of buying a new watch for somebody, or even for yourself? Collecting watches as fashion items is a hobby for alot of people. You will know exactly what I mean if you have ever been to a car boot sale! Other individuals like me for example, who choose not to wear a watch at any time.

watches are so abundant in the high street and online, that it is hard to know where to begin when trying to choose what to buy. Sometimes I might say to myself, “This watch that I am buying, is it supposed to say fashion item, or workhorse”? Your hardest problem is the subjective design choice, and trying to imagine another person would choose for themselves. When you are shopping for an individual, any choices have to be tailored toward that person.

Watch movements are generally confined to two distinct types – mechanical and quartz. Quartz movements operate with the use of a battery. They are extremely accurate, and lose just a few seconds every month. The battery can also be relied upon to last for ages, making it a very popular choice in the shops. Manual winding by the owner is usually the sourse of power for the mechanical movements. These mens watches and ladies watches last longer because they generally been manufactured away from the mass market culture. The build of these watches reflects quality and will often be passed down through the generations.

The materals used to make the casings vary alot from precious metals like gold, silver and platinum to plastics and stainless steel. Younger people generally like the plastic cases, which are available in a range of funky styles and colours. If you go for one of these, it is probably going to be a quartz as it is for using now and not for keeping for some distant generation. Ideally it would have an aluminium or rubber casing, and would offer the option for changing the wrist bands.
