Time Strike

Time+Strike
If a boy shows signs of liking you and treating you as a friend at the same time, how do you know for sure?

How do you know for sure without asking?

He asked me out for a movie, stood up for me a few times, strikes up conversations with me, kept in contact with me even though he’s not the type of person who does it, laughed at my stupid jokes.

But he never called me once, nor messaged me on the phone, and sometimes he goes offline in a middle of a conversation.

:( What are other signs that I may have missed? I don’t want to ask because it’ll turn awkward and I’m sure we wouldn’t be friends anymore.

u need to wait…but if he does something…..and goes out of his way to make u happy…..thats what ur looking for…..u can always have some of ur mutual frnd ask him….that usually works….but be sure who u confide in wont go n blabbering abt it to everyone….that turns embaressing….

This 1991 Seattle supergroup brought together Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden with the surviving members of Mother Love Bone (Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard) and Eddie Vedder, later of Pearl Jam. The experiment worked. Cornell shines, seeming more comfortable here on this tribute to his former roommate and deceased MLB lead singer Andrew Wood than with his own band. “Hunger Strike” and “S…

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

John Williams’ lovely and moving score for the sixth Star Wars film brings thirty years of collaborating on George Lucas’ beyond-popular intergalactic franchise to a close. (Is this really the end of Star Wars? Can’t Lucas and Williams work together on a prequel to these prequels? Let us hope so, and that Jar Jar Binks is nowhere near it.) As this music accompanies the most exciting Star Wars film…

Again? Yes. Even though no other movie has been released as many times on video as Star Wars (except for its sequels, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi), George Lucas and the folks at 20th Century Fox have actually released a slightly different film this time. This video followed the mega-successful 20th-anniversary theatrical rerelease, in which Lucas personally remastered the image …

Strike Warfare

Strike Warfare

$27.95

Strike warfare is a term that is rarely used in the popular media even though reports of conflicts often describe its application or effects. Those brief snippets of information seldom provide a complete picture of what is happening at the time, and they almost never explain the operational or technical background that influences how such actions occur. This leaves the average reader or viewer with an information void, a gap in understanding. This book is intended to fill that gap. It does so in a logical and methodical fashion, building the picture piece by piece using easily understandable language. It begins with a discussion of the more newsworthy side of the subject, strike warfare operations. All of the key elements are addressed: targets, defenses, resources, and the several steps required to prosecute an attack. The book’s goal is to eliminate the uncertainty, the mystery and the outright fiction that sometimes exists in popular versions of the story. The second half of the book deals with an even less understood part of the subject, the development of strike weapons. The average citizen may occasionally hear of cost overruns, development test failures or some other negative aspect of military development programs, but there is hardly any background information available to the American taxpayer on how such programs function in general. Again, the book aims to correct a deficiency with respect to an accurate account of how strike weapons are actually developed. The entire development and life cycle is described, step by step, at the summary level. The author then closes with some thoughts about lessons learned and trends for the future. This is recommended reading for anyone with an interest in or a connection with strike warfare or strike weapons development. It should prove helpful to military or civilian newcomers to the field, members of the news media, and legislators or members of their staff dealing with military matters. But first and foremost, it was written to provide the average American taxpayer a better understanding of an important and powerful military capability.

In this extraordinary collection from one of our most celebrated poets, Don McKay walks the strike-slip fault between poetry and landscape, sticks its strange nose into the cold silence of geologic time, meditates on marble, quartz and gneiss, and attends to the songs of ravens and thrushes and to the clamour of the industrialized bush. Behind these poems lies the urge to engage the tectonics of planetary dwelling with the rickety contraption of language, and to register the stress, sheer and strain — but also the astonishment — engendered by that necessary failure.

“A cell phone awakens a young mother in a Palestinian refugee camp. The simple message,” It is time,” jolts her awake. Dressing in clothes that once belonged to her dead husband, she asks her mother to watch her young son. Upon arriving at the mosque she meets the man who had called. He takes her to two other men who will transport her, and the bomb she will wear, to the proper destinationthe West Bank city of Ariel. A story of international terrorism and intrigue unfolds across the globe. Special agents and covert operatives track clues to pinpoint the probability of an attack that will dwarf previous attempts to strike where it hurts the most.”

Strike Back

Strike Back

$7.89

Two soldiers: Britain’s most celebrated military hero and a broken veteran living in the gutters of London. Their paths last crossed nearly twenty years ago. Now, amidst a hostage crisis in the Middle East, their lives are about to collide again. And the Strike Back is about to begin. John Porter was involved in a hostage raid in Lebanon in 1989. The raid went disastrously wrong, several Regiment men died, John spared the life of a Lebanese fighter and blames himself for the deaths. Struggling to come to terms with the past, John has hit the bottle and is sleeping rough. Colonel Peregrine Collinson was involved in the same raid. He was awarded a Military Cross and is heralded as a military hero. After the disastrous raid, their lives couldn’t have been further apart. Until now. A hostage crisis in the Middle East draws the enemies back together for the first time. Who will be the hero this time?

Lucky Strike

ust as she did in her New York Times Notable debut novel, The Metal Shredders, Nancy Zafris follows a colorful cast of characters into uncharted fictional territory, this time landing in the canyon country of the desert Southwest in 1954. For motivations as straightforward as striking it rich to reasons far more complex and counfounding, they each embark on very personal divergent journeys across an unforgiving countryside, even while their quest to find uranium unites them. By turns meditative and funny, frightening, witty and refreshingly wise, Lucky Strike explores the ways that language simply put can mine the inexpressable. In the process, a young widow and her two children learn much about uranium but even more about the nature of the love that binds them. This is a story to touch your heart.
