Donate Money to local school, is it tax deductible?
My mother helps a local school out by bringing her 9 hole miniature golf club set to raise money at a yearly school fundraiser. Each year it generates at least $800 plus dollars that she donates to the school. Can this money be used as a tax write off deductible?
Assuming that the money that she raises goes directly to the school, there’s no deduction for her there. If she has any out of pocket costs related to it she can deduct those. That includes any miles at 14 cents per mile.
