Robert L. Cannon of West Deer Township (tribunereview)

Robert Leland Cannon, 89, of West Deer Township, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011,
in UPMC Passavant, Pittsburgh. He was the husband of Ida (Coennen) Cannon. He
was born March 22, 1922, in Jamestown, N.Y., to the late Leland and Irene
(Simmons) Cannon. He was a paratrooper with the 517th Parachute Infantry
Regiment in the Army during World War II. Mr. Cannon started his career as an
armature winder at Westinghouse, Pittsburgh, next worked at Daily’s Juice in
Oakmont, then retired in 1987 from Key Bank in Jamestown, N.Y. Robert was the
past secretary of the North Side Sportsman Club when he resided in Pittsburgh.
While living in New York, he was a volunteer fireman and fire police for 37
years in Busti, Lakewood and Celeron, a past president and secretary for
Chautauqua County fire police and a member of the Lakewood, N.Y., American
Legion Post 1286. He also served as an usher, lector, choir member and
Eucharistic minister for the Sacred Heart Church in Lakewood, N.Y. He served
as an usher and choir member when he was a member at St. Ursula Catholic
Church. He is currently a member at St. Victor Catholic Church …
