Face Pocket Watch
Is anyone familiar with pocket watches?
I have an open faced pocket watch, American Waltham Watch Co, 15 Jewels, serial number 14371804. From what I have found online, the serial number dates it back to 1905. This is about all I know. It is gold in color. I have no idea if it is actual gold, if there is any value to it, or anything. If anyone has any information on this at all I would greatly appreciate it.
you have to open up the back of the case, like a little flip lid – the jewelers mark will be around the area where the makers name was and the jewel count
it could say something like this – 14k rgf or .925 or 18K – each mark is a different type of metal
but from general description mom guesses under one hundred dollars in working order – she has sold quite a few
